P1) The sun and moon orbit in a round path

P2) This can only happen when the earth is round

C) Earth is round

The argument is valid in this format (I've just generalised it compared to your OP). However, the premises appear to be false, or at least, unclear. From what I gathered, P1 implies the sun and moon orbit the Earth - but only one of those is true. It is actually the Earth which orbits the sun.

I'm also not sure about the veracity of P2. If the earth were flat, could the moon still orbit it in a round path? Admittedly this is beyond my knowledge scope so I'll leave it to a more clued-in person, but if it were true, it would imply the conclusion.

Overall though, it is a bit of an unclear argument, especially P1.

I am saying that people at ancient times or people who lived in 3rd century saw sun and moon orbiting in the sky and hence means that they knew earth is round

Ah, got it. In that case it's just a matter of whether those claims themselves are true.
